A Single Man

January 18, 2010

Braved the rain to see A Single Man with L last night. What a stunning portrayal of love, loss and life.

Tom Ford delivers all the cinematic luxury you would expect from a fashion GOD and yet what I will remember most are the emotions of the actors, laid bare through the slightest look, captured by a close angle shot. Colin Firth is glorious as the heartbroken Professor George Falconer, almost usurping Mr Darcy as my all time favorite Colin Firth role, although nothing can EVER beat the memory of being thirteen and watching Mr Darcy appearing in the horizon with his beige jodphurs on. Be still my beating heart.
