On Sunday, L and I headed out to the Brooklyn Flea. I love flea markets, even though you don’t really get the best deals at the NY markets, but what’s a girl to do? When we got there, like the Yahoos in Gulliver’s Travels, I headed straight for the shiny things. Shiny!!
We hit the jackpot at one of our first stops – a great vintage jewelry booth – and I managed to pick up two lovelies for my ever-growing collection.
The first is this happy little clown. Look at him smiling because he’s so shiny and limb-full… If you were a gold plated harlequin on a string, you’d be smiling too. I can’t wait to wear him.
The second is this rhinestone panther brooch. He’s perched on a black rock and is purring and unfortunately, toothless. It’s a good thing he’s so pretty because he would make a terrible living as a hunter. You can’t see it so well in the picture, but while his spots are black, he has a green eye. Yeah he’s a little hokey, but I just couldn’t bear not to take him home with me.
Anyway, do check out the flea if you have some free time on the weekends. It’s just such a great time rummaging through all the stuff.
